Guitar Cupcake Cake

Lately I've had alot of requests for cupcake cakes, which are super fun to create! This cupcake cake, was for the clients friend in a band. They surprised him onstage at a show for his birthday. It's made up with around 40 chocolate cupcakes.  To get the full length of the guitar, I had to make my own cake board out of a flattened cardboard box wrapped in duct tape! LOL it was nice and sturdy ;)

I drew the guitar strings on with white chocolate, then added some black edible glitter on the guitar neck for some added shimmer.

Bridal Shower - Cupcake Wedding Dress & Marshmallow Pops!

My best friend Sarah had her bridal shower back in March and I made the 'cake' and treats for it. I did a cupcake cake shaped like a wedding gown, complete with bling!  As an added treat, I made some marshmallow pops with her wedding colours, black, white and hot pink. They were a big hit!

The cupcakes were chocolate with almond buttercream. I added some crispy white chocolate pearls with shimmer dust, to add some pretty bling to the 'dress'.

Easter Cupcakes - Birds Nests

I made these Birds Nest Cupcakes for the Easter brunch at work this year. I have fond memories of my mom making these or in a  cake version for my birthday as a kid, since Easter falls on or around it. All you need for these is sweetened shredded coconut, which you dip your iced cupcakes into, then add 3 mini eggs in the middle! You can also add some green food colour to the coconut to give it a grassy look.
Quick and easy and looks so pretty!!

Baby Boy Shower Cupcakes

I did 40 cupcakes recently for a clients daughter's baby shower. I made some little circles out of fondant and wrote out the letters to say 'welcome baby boy' with dark chocolate, and added some blue glitter and pearls. Simple yet cute!

SHARKNADO Cupcakes!!!

Ok so I'm sure you have at least heard of Sharknado the movie, which has become a huge cult hit! I know it's a ridiculous idea of a movie, and the acting is horrible, but it's supposed to be like that! It makes the movies even better!! Anyways,  my chef is a little obsessed with the movie, and when the sequel came out this summer, that's all we talked about at work. His birthday was this past week, and I had the idea to make him Sharknado cupcakes for a surprise. They were a hit, especially with his kids!

The tornado is made from sugar cones with white chocolate drizzled around, and gummy sharks flying through the air. Blue butter cream as water on top of my decadent chocolate cake!

I think Wayne was happy! lol

The night before Kadie and I decorated his office with balloons and streamers and I told him a sharknado must have hit his office last night...

Wedding Cupcake Tree

Back in October 2010, I did this cupcake tree for my brother's wedding. I made 200 cupcakes in chocolate, carrot cake, and lemon. I even made all the toothpick decorations. They had birds as part of their theme, so I hand stamped them all and punched out scallop circles and adhered them to the toothpicks.

Tada! Here I am with the finished product!

I was so happy to be asked to make my brother's wedding 'cake'.

Farm Animal Cupcakes and Barn Cake

I just love doing themed birthday parties! My cousin Willow had her 3rd birthday back in February, and it was a barn animal theme. I did some cute little piggies, chicks and cows with icing on cupcakes, and a red barn cake with some animals peeking out of the windows. She just loved it so much!

Willow tried one of each animal while we were taking pictures! It was so funny!

Minnie Mouse 1st Birthday

Here's a Minnie Mouse smash cake and 5 dozen matching cupcakes I made for a 1st birthday party last week. The cake was Red Velvet, along with half of the cupcakes, the other half vanilla.

Cupcakes were iced with cream cheese icing and garnished with crispy pearls, ears and a fondant bow, hand painted with white edible paint!

The cake was covered with fondant to look like Minnie's dress and complete with her big red bow!  I added some pearl shimmer dust to give it a girly flair!

Woodland Friends Party (Part 1) - Toadstool Cupcakes and Marshmallow Pops

I had the pleasure of creating all the fun goodies for  my little cousins 1st birthday party a few weeks ago, and I was so happy to hear the theme was Woodland animals. I knew right away I wanted to make these adorable toadstool pops! I had the wood stump with the holes in it (pencil crayon holder) and used some wood patterned paper straws, which matched perfectly! Marshmallows dipped in red chocolate and crispy white choc. pearls. They were a huge hit with the kids and even more with the adults! :)

The toadstool cupcakes were vanilla, dipped in melted red icing, with white choc. chips as the dots.

My cousin Willow had her eye on those cupcakes from the moment she arrived. As soon as she got the go ahead, she dove right in!! What a cutie!
