My Most Popular Cake Flavour

My most popular cake request is my Chocolate cake with Salted Caramel Filling, and to make it even better, coated in Chocolate Ganache! Here's one I did for a customers husband's birthday. He is a member at the golf & country club I work at. She wanted me to write this humourous birthday greeting on the cake too! I covered the outside of the cake with Macaron halves and added crispy pearls around.

Plumber 50th Birthday Cake!

Guess who this cake was for? Hmm....a Plumber!  It was his 50th birthday and I came up with the idea of incorporating pipes and water around the cake, then a sink on the top. Even the '50' is water coming out of the tap. I put a little wrench for him to fix the broken pipes too! LOL  I painted the pipes with some silver pearl dust, as well as paint the lettering onto the fondant. The cake was chocolate with my famous salted caramel filling.

Skylander's Birthday Cake & Cupcakes

When I was asked to do a Skylanders cake, I had no idea what that was! After some research, I discovered its very popular with kids right now, and this turned out to be one of my fave cakes to make!  Jericho wanted the character Spyro on top of the portal. I made the little banner from printing a logo and adding his name, then attaching it to paper straws. I also did the same with the 'element' icons for each cupcake. This cake/cupcake is Red Velvet with cream cheese icing! Yum!

Tigger 1st Birthday Cake!

Here's a Tigger cake I made for a 1st Birthday in January. The bottom tier is all tiger striped complete with a tail! I made the little Tigger cake topper with fondant, he even has his spiral tail to bounce with! ;)

Harry Potter Birthday Cake!!

I was so excited to do this cake!! My chef's youngest son requested a Harry Potter themed birthday cake, after seeing the Rubik's cube cake I made for his older brother...you can check that one out HERE!
His only request was to include a snake, spider and wand...the rest was up to me...here's what I ended up with...

I added the golden snitch, Harry's owl Hedwig,  the Sorting Hat, then painted on the top two tiers the Marauder's Map complete with the footprints and banner that says "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." The bottom tier is the Gryffindor's scarf.

I painted the snitch with some gold pearl dust, and added some gold edible stars for 'magic spell' appeal!

I even hand painted the happy birthday with black food colour, and even did the lightning bolt 'P's

Now I'm totally in the mood to watch the complete series of Harry Potter movies! :)

SHARKNADO Cupcakes!!!

Ok so I'm sure you have at least heard of Sharknado the movie, which has become a huge cult hit! I know it's a ridiculous idea of a movie, and the acting is horrible, but it's supposed to be like that! It makes the movies even better!! Anyways,  my chef is a little obsessed with the movie, and when the sequel came out this summer, that's all we talked about at work. His birthday was this past week, and I had the idea to make him Sharknado cupcakes for a surprise. They were a hit, especially with his kids!

The tornado is made from sugar cones with white chocolate drizzled around, and gummy sharks flying through the air. Blue butter cream as water on top of my decadent chocolate cake!

I think Wayne was happy! lol

The night before Kadie and I decorated his office with balloons and streamers and I told him a sharknado must have hit his office last night...

Rubik's Cube Birthday Cake

I made this Rubik's Cube birthday cake yesterday. What a fun and unusual request! I'm happy with how it turned out. Seems like a simple-ish cake to do, but it takes alot of measuring and planning to make it right! I even made sure I had the proper amount of coloured squares since there can only be 9 of each on a cube.
