Guitar Cupcake Cake

Lately I've had alot of requests for cupcake cakes, which are super fun to create! This cupcake cake, was for the clients friend in a band. They surprised him onstage at a show for his birthday. It's made up with around 40 chocolate cupcakes.  To get the full length of the guitar, I had to make my own cake board out of a flattened cardboard box wrapped in duct tape! LOL it was nice and sturdy ;)

I drew the guitar strings on with white chocolate, then added some black edible glitter on the guitar neck for some added shimmer.

Bridal Shower - Cupcake Wedding Dress & Marshmallow Pops!

My best friend Sarah had her bridal shower back in March and I made the 'cake' and treats for it. I did a cupcake cake shaped like a wedding gown, complete with bling!  As an added treat, I made some marshmallow pops with her wedding colours, black, white and hot pink. They were a big hit!

The cupcakes were chocolate with almond buttercream. I added some crispy white chocolate pearls with shimmer dust, to add some pretty bling to the 'dress'.

Dukes of Hazzard - General Lee Cake

This was a great birthday cake for a Dukes of Hazzard fan! My client wanted a cake with the General Lee to surprise her husband for his birthday. I made the car out of cake, which I carved into the shape and decorated with fondant. The cake is my rich decadent chocolate cake with salted caramel filling and dark chocolate ganache coating.

Minionator Custom Cake - Minion Terminator!!

This past weekend I made a super fun and unique custom birthday cake for my chef's son. He requested a Minionator, half minion, half terminator. I sampled this off of a photo they sent me by Lola Belle Cakes.  I kicked it up a notch and added a real flickering light to the terminator's eye.

Had to add a banana in the back pocket!!

I love getting unique cake orders from my clients! It gives me a chance to challenge myself, and to have some fun! If you have a crazy cake idea, send it my way at sweetsbymorgan@gmail.com!

Chocolate Dipped 'Carrot' Strawberries - Easter treat!

Another Easter treat I made for the brunch at work, chocolate dipped strawberries (carrots).  These were a huge hit with the customers! I added some orange edible glitter to make them sparkle too!

Marshmallow Pops ~ Easter/Spring theme

Marshmallow Pops are my new fave thing to make!!  I've got a HUGE stash of paper straws, which are perfect for making these pops with. These are from my Easter Brunch at work. I dipped the marshmallows in white chocolate then the ends in some pastel coloured mini chocolate chips. I just love these spring colours! When I do up my dessert tables, I usually bring some of my decorative pieces to put the pops in. I love the mason jars with chalkboard labels from Target...which I miss here in Canada :(

Easter Cupcakes - Birds Nests

I made these Birds Nest Cupcakes for the Easter brunch at work this year. I have fond memories of my mom making these or in a  cake version for my birthday as a kid, since Easter falls on or around it. All you need for these is sweetened shredded coconut, which you dip your iced cupcakes into, then add 3 mini eggs in the middle! You can also add some green food colour to the coconut to give it a grassy look.
Quick and easy and looks so pretty!!
